The Municipality of Los Realejos use your Neighborhood Plan for enable two new public and free car parks in the areas of El Horno and in the surroundings of the Pureza de María school, near The mountain. The works, which have already begun, have an overall budget of 143,000 euros and will allow to count in four months with 75 new squares.
The northern Consistory invests 55,640 euros in the project for the area of public and accessible parking lots in El Horno, whose work has already begun, after the corresponding tender and award. In 2020, the City Council negotiated the acquisition of the plot. Another 87,433 euros will be allocated to the project drafted by the Municipal Urbanism Managementor for the surroundings of La Pureza, “which will provide another solution to a problem in this residential and school area that is suffering from historical lack of parking and traffic congestion”, points out the mayor of Urban Planning, Laura Lima. The 2,000 square meter plot is located between the TF-333 island road and the Valverde and Frontera roads. Vehicles will have access and exit from this last street, through an interior circuit. 50 parking spaces will be enabled which, according to the initial approach, will be distributed on two levels.
The term of execution of the works together with La Pureza is four months. The clearing and cleaning of the land will begin shortly and the demolition of walls and enclosures inside the plot will continue; the clearing of the land to homogenize the surface; the execution of concrete walls; the perimeter closure with walls and fencing; the asphalting of the surface and, finally, the painting of the parking spaces.
The Consistory of Los Realejos also initiates the procedures to execute two similar projects in the towns of Toscas de Romero and Tanque Arriba
The Councilor for Contracting, Noelia Gonzalezand the mayor of Public Works, Jose Andres Perezrecently visited the works at El Horno, which are expected to be completed within a month.
According Noelia Gonzalez, «this car park will meet a historic demand from residents on a road located in a residential area with parking difficulties, due to the narrowness of some sections and its steep slope». José Andrés Pérez adds that this intervention includes paving, signage, landscaping and the provision of public lighting for this space with 25 parking spacesof which «one will be reserved and marked for a vehicle for people with reduced mobility, in addition to two places for motorcycles».
The Real Estate Government (PP) also announces that it has started “the procedures for the acquisition of two plots of land in the towns of Toscas with Rosemary and Tank Top to enable public parking,” according to the first deputy mayor, Adolf Gonzalez.
