The Municipality of Tegueste started last week with construction work on the first dog park in the municipality, which will be located in “a small area” of Finca Los Zamorano and that will cover around 850 square meters.
The project, for which an award budget of 39,341 euros has been allocated, will provide the municipality with an area to promote the well-being of the pets near the urban area. The central location of the area will facilitate access on foot for the owners and there will be a large parking area nearby.
The Councilor for Public Services, Ricardo Chico, stated that the opening of this new space represents progress in the municipality, which is committed to the well-being and improvement of the quality of life of Tegueste’s pets. “The construction of this park should raise awareness among citizens to keep the parks, squares and roads of Tegueste clean”, Boy says.
In addition, the councilman values the start-up of the works of what will be the first dog park in the municipality. “The objective is to promote the creation of safe places where pets and their owners can enjoy limited spaces and equipped for this purpose,” he says.
The works, which are already being carried out, include the preparation of the land, including the cleaning and clearing of the vegetation in the area, which will be surrounded by concrete retaining walls and fences. The performances will end on April 26, equipping the park with game equipment and canine entertainment such as jump fences, stop table, palisade or slalom.
