MP of the People’s Party Ana Zurita will present at the Congress of Deputies various proposals for try to save the pool from Los Silos, which Costas in Madrid intends to eliminate after its concession to the northern City Council expires. Zurita will propose a bill in which he will demand the modification of article 74 of Law 22/88 on Coasts so that “situations such as the pool of the siloswhich are not only within the territorial and urban planning, but it is an anthropized area with the construction carried out for more than half a century ».

The popular ones also demand that the announced transfer of management competencies from Costas to the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islandsand that in this step “these anomalies are contemplated on a temporary basis and the Canarian situations can be resolved with the sensitivity they deserve.”

The popular also demand that the transfer of powers in Coasts to the Canary Islands be carried out and that the singularities of the islands be respected

The PP deputy will present another non-law proposal asking the rest of the political groups to join the proposal to avoid “the injustice that the General Directorate of the Coast and the Sea proposes committing with the Los Silos pool ».

The insular president of the PP, Emilio Navarrorecently visited Los Silos, along with Ana Zuritato show the party’s support for “the preservation of this recreational and sports infrastructure built 58 years ago.”

For the PP spokesperson in Los Silos, Rachel Gonzalez, the local swimming pool is “a benchmark throughout the Low Island”. A region that, in Navarro’s opinion, suffers from the abandonment of the central government, which “shows a lack of sensitivity and a total ignorance” of the Canarian reality by proposing “the setback of the demolition of the swimming pool, which would greatly reduce the possibilities of economic growth and development of Los Silos».
