Los Abrigos will have an office of the Citizen Service (SAC). To do this, the Municipality of Granadilla de Abona has summoned the competition for the lease of a premises with an estimated budget of 237,600 euros, for a period of 10 years. Mayor, Jose Domingo Regaladoexplains that the town, the furthest from the local administrative center on the southern edge of the municipality, has experienced a considerable population increase. Currently, it has 7,350 registered inhabitants.
The councilor from Granada announces that this will achieve another of his government’s objectives and stresses that this new step in the decentralization of the Administration to bring it closer to the citizens, the residents of Los Abrigos will not have to travel to the nearest SAC office, in El Médano.

Among the requirements established in the tender, it is established that the premises to be rented must have a useful area between 80 square meters, minimum, and 165 square meters. In addition, it must have a warehouse, toilet and rest areas. It must also have the entrance on the ground floor and good accessibility, as well as the entire basic network of electrical installation and telecommunications, among other things.
The Councilor for Citizen Services, Maria Candelaria Rodriguez, explains that the municipal government tries to respond to the needs of the population growth (one of the highest and continuous) that Granadilla de Abona has experienced in recent years. He assures that the Consistory has been working for a long time on the implementation of this service in Los Abrigos, which is incorporated into the network of offices of the Citizen Service (SAC) that today make up the offices set up in the urban area (in the Plaza González Mena), San Isidro and El Médano.
In this town, in addition, the Department of General Services undertakes the works of the new leisure and recreation area of the Plaza de Galicia. With an estimated investment of around 107,000 euros, the place is equipped with a new playground, a calisthenics point, a dog area and a green area or small green lung, which will feature various species and native flora. This project involves a comprehensive reform of the place and is part of the Municipal Plan for Playgrounds and Recreation, which includes a dozen actions with a global budget of 450,000 euros.
José Domingo Regalado explains that the execution of these leisure areas responds to the commitment to promote inclusiveness and improve the recreational value of parks and youth leisure, through calisthenics and street workout, in addition to betting on the health of old.
