SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 19 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The councilor of the Natural Environment Management and Security area of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Isabel García, together with the councilors Yurena Luis and Narciso Pérez, visited the access path to Playa de Los Patos, in the municipality of La Orotava, in the that work is already being done on the restitution of the access ladder to the bathing area after having been awarded a grant of 300,000 euros by the Island Institution to the El Rincón Consortium.
The councilor explained during the visit that this work, already underway, seems definitively to solve a problem that can already be considered historical in the municipality, mainly due to the interest of this splendid black sand beach. The counselor, who was accompanied by technicians from the territory, analyzed the existing risks in the area and, together with the mayors from Orota, collected proposals on accessibility and the state of the trails for possible future actions.
“There are several reasons, of an administrative nature, that have appealed to this project since its inception in 2017, delaying its start-up and even having to reverse a previous grant; and it was in May 2021 when the Consortium has once again requested to the Cabildo the concession of this amount, which has been paid with a term of one year for the execution of the works”, said Isabel García.
