A taxi driver was injured last morning after being stabbed by a robber in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The driver suffered various cuts, since the aggressor gave him several punctures, although he has already been discharged from the Our Lady of Candelaria University Hospitalwhere he was taken after the attack.
The events occurred around two in the morning. As reported by the president of Elite Taxi, Miguel Ojeda, in COPE Canarias, the taxi driver had picked up the robber as a client in the near Weyler Square and he asked her to take him to Salamanca Street. When they were arriving at the place, he told her to stop next to an ATM to withdraw money to pay for her trip.
Once the vehicle was stopped, the robber he pounced on the taxi driver and threatened him with a sharp object to the neck told him to get off with his card and take out all his money. The taxi driver refused and began a struggle with the robber, who gave the victim several punctures. As a result of the attack, the victim suffered a puncture wound on the right side and some cuts on his hands, one of them 2 centimeters deep.
According to sources from the Local Police, a patrol went to the area after receiving notice of the robbery to the taxi driver, who provided a description of the aggressor and pointed out that he he had taken the collection of what he had worked, around 200 euros. With that description, a raid began in the area between the Local Police and the National Police. The taxi driver was accompanied by the Local Police to the Los Gladiolos Health Center and, after the first health assessment, he was transferred by ambulance to the La Candelaria Hospital.
