Three people were injured of different considerations after a spectacular traffic accident that took place this Thursday, around 10:30 am, on the TF-5, in the direction of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and as it passed through the municipality of Tacoronte. The incident also left long traffic jams on the highway.
As reported by the Canary Islands Government Safety and Emergency Coordination Center (CECOES 1-1-2), the emergency resources were activated after receiving an alert call informing of the collision of a car with the median of the TF-5. Two basic life support ambulances from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), firefighters, agents from the Cabildo de Tenerife Highway Maintenance Service and the Civil Guard traveled to the scene.
Members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium secured the accident vehicle and facilitated the exit of its occupants from inside the passenger compartment. While the SUC staff assisted the three affected: a 56-year-old woman who, at the initial moment of assistance, presented moderate facial trauma, except for complications; another 85-year-old woman with minor injuries, except for complications; and a 45-year-old man, transferred by basic life support ambulance from the SUC to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands for his assessment.
The Civil Guard regulated traffic on the road and carried out the corresponding report, and the staff of the Highway Maintenance Service collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources.
