The residents of the neighborhood of La Rambla, in San Juan de la Rambla, will continue on Sundays with the protests that they have been carrying out for a month and a half to demand a safe entry and exit to the TF-5. This was decided after the meeting held on Monday at the Cabildo de Tenerife with the councilor and the insular director of Roads, Enrique Arriaga and Tomás Félix García, respectively, in which they were presented with the definitive solution to put an end to a problem that has been going on for more than of four decades.
The planned project to guarantee safety at the entrance and exit to the neighborhood for both vehicles and pedestrians consists of the construction of an underpass (a section that runs under the road or highway similar to the one found in Los Realejos for access to El Socorro beach) that will allow the maneuvers to enter La Rambla from Icod de los Vinos as well as the exit to Santa Cruz, the execution of which would take about two years.
Faced with this situation, the platform ‘Todos con La Rambla’, provided a proposal that the island officials undertook to study in order to resolve the problem in the short term. Meanwhile, he will continue with his claim on Sundays and other planned actions.
