SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 16 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has agreed this Wednesday the free transfer to the city of land worth 28 million euros, the award of the works on the ‘Acapulco-El Bloque coast and the administrative authorization for the installation of a kiosk-terrace on the roof of the Port-City building.

The land corresponds to that disaffected from the port public domain in front of the city, an area that reaches 10,364 square meters and valued at 27,982,769 euros, having already started the process for the future transfer of another 8,000 square meters that correspond with part of the tunnel surface of the Port’s Service Road.

As indicated in article 44 of the Consolidated Text of the Law on State Ports and the Merchant Navy, the free transfer procedure requires an appraisal of the goods subject to transfer, a task that has been carried out by the company Valoraciones del Mediterráneo SA (Valmesa), informs the Port Authority in a note.

The surface corresponds to the land that is no longer part of the port public domain after the execution of the burial works of the Vía Litoral in the area of the Link Dock.

In part of the disaffected surface, specifically in 2,500 square meters, the construction of the ‘Thematic children’s area referring to the Gesta of July 25, 1797’ is already being carried out by the City Council, prior authorization to this effect by the president of Puertos de Tenerife, Carlos González, for the occupation of the area until the transfer is formalized.

Precisely Carlos González has stated that they have always understood that said esplanade is called to constitute a free public space inserted in the urban activity of the city, and that has been worked on.

“Today’s Council session once again shows that we continue to make progress in port-city integration, not only with this initiative but also, for example, with the award of the Acapulco-El Bloque works, thus fulfilling the agreement to that effect. signed with the city council”, he indicated in a note sent by the entity.

In order for the Port Authority of Tenerife to transfer land of a patrimonial nature free of charge, in this case to the City Council, it must first have the pertinent authorization from the State Ports, following a positive report from the General Directorate of State Patrimony.

Thus, only the free assignment of disaffected assets in favor of public administrations and for purposes of public utility or social interest will be admitted.

After the agreement of the Council, the progress of the process corresponds to the State Ports, being the State Government itself, before the amount greater than 18 million euros, who closes the process of free transfer of the land.

ACAPULCO-THE BLOCK

The highest port representative body also agreed to award the conditioning works of the Valleseco coastline, around Acapulco-El Bloque, for 402,611 euros and an execution period of four months, to Construcciones Elfidio Pérez, the only offer submitted to the call.

Both spaces are used as bathing areas for residents and young people from the metropolitan area and their use makes the need to condition them evident.

Specifically, the work to be carried out will improve accessibility, order and increase cleaning tasks, also improving the existing equipment with accessories such as litter bins, showers and bathrooms.

Soon the roof of the Port-City building will house a kiosk-terrace for catering activities, which will provide Santa Cruz with a new recreation and enjoyment area with a direct view of the Anaga dock.

It will occupy an area of 261.42 square meters, thanks to the granting of the corresponding administrative concession, initially for a period of ten years.

This action in the Port-City building, adds to its recent remodeling, works that have adapted the representative building to the requirements of use by citizens and tourists, also improving access between the city and the port.
