The Municipality of Los Realejos already has the necessary technical project to prevent flooding in Puldon Natero streeta section of the TF-324 road that is owned by the island and is affected by diversions of water that depends on the Island Water Council of Tenerife (Ciatf). The first deputy mayor of Los Realejos, Adolf Gonzalez (PP); the Councilor for Urban Planning, Laura Lima (PP), and the councilor for the area of La Cruz Santa, Dario Perez (PP), detail that the Town Hall of Los Realejos and its Municipal Planning Office already have a second project with a proposal for intervention in its rainwater network and comprehensive rehabilitation that it has sent to Ciatf.
“Since the previous mandate there was a commitment on the part of the council to undertake, in a co-financed way, a comprehensive reform work on this road in order to solve the deficiencies that are revealed, especially on rainy days, with problems of flooding and runoff, by collecting the own water and that of roads adjoining without an adequate evacuation network”, details Adolf Gonzalez.
The first deputy mayor reports that “without being the direct responsibility of this City Council, we then promised to assume the necessary prior investment for the drafting of the project and thus speed up the times and the processing so that the Cabildo would have a technical solution as soon as possible. and could plan the execution of the work, then receiving unfavorable reports from the Island Water Council of Tenerife to the proposals made, for which the consistory commissioned another drafting of the project, having already invested around 30,000 euros in these documents.
“Throughout this process, between one proposal and another, there have been different conversations with Ciatf in order to design the alternative project based on consensus and previous technical guidelines, programming canalizations, network layout and discharge of these waters. based on your indications. The conduction of the same from each basin to its linked channels has been contemplated, understanding that at this time we are in a position to have the approval of the insular reports and the Council of Tenerife thus attend to the consequent planning of the investment for the execution of the work as soon as possible”, argues Laura Lima.
A first technical proposal from the Realejero City Council was rejected by the Tenerife Island Water Council
Dario Perez highlights “the risks involved for road traffic and for the people who travel along this road, as well as the adjoining homes, due to the large accumulation of water that is generated on rainy days, for which we once again echo this concern and neighborhood demand by putting on the table a new project that we want to be the definitive one and that is considered technically and economically viable by the council”.
“Over the last few years, in works contemplated in the Municipal Neighborhood Plansome interventions have been carried out on nearby roads that have partially improved the evacuation of stormwater in the environment towards the natural course of the ravine in order to reduce the accumulation of the same towards Puldón Natero street, but we continue to propose as a priority that The specific and comprehensive intervention of this insular road that continues to suffer from so many problems is addressed, ”he emphasizes. Adolf Gonzalez.
The aforementioned project sent this week to the Tenerife Island Water Council addresses the implementation of a new surface drainage network that allows the collection of the flows contributed by the tributary basins to the surroundings of Puldon Natero street and the evacuation of the same in safe conditions, as well as the implementation of elevated pedestrian crossings and road planning of this street in order to improve the relationship between pedestrian and vehicular traffic and the conditions of accessibility and road safety in the area.
The new technical project has been drafted following the guidelines of the technicians of the Insular Council of Waters of Tenerife, for which the municipality hopes to receive a positive response
By technically studying different alternatives for the evacuation of water, a drainage system is proposed that allows the collection of rainwater from the tributary basins to Puldón Natero from the Sociocultural Center of La Cruz Santarunning along the north side of the aforementioned road until its intersection with Mencey Bentor Street through a collector, different collection elements in its road and cross streets and connection with the new collector of the networks collected from royal street to absorbent well.
The evacuation of the waters towards the Gorvorana ravine It is proposed by means of an extension of the collector projected on Puldón Natero street under Mencey Bentor street to the bed of this ravine through an underground reinforced concrete frame and a new transverse catchment grid at the intersection with the street of the afflicted.
Likewise, the diversion of rainwater from Calle El Brezal to its natural basin is contemplated as a complementary work. San Felipe Ravine by means of an evacuation system made up of an interceptor grid and a tube, in order to continue reducing the load on the spills on the Puldon Natero Street.
