The Municipality of La Laguna will host tomorrow Monday a Coordination meeting convened by the Councilor for Citizen Security of the City Council of La Laguna, Alejandro Marrero, to redouble the efforts of the control devices of the nightlife in La Laguna, especially on weekends. The meeting is expected to be attended by the sub-delegate of the Government in the Canary Islands, Javier Plata, and the commanders of the Local Police, the Canary Islands Police, the National Police and the Civil Guard, among others.
The meeting takes place in order to increase the surveillance device and stop incidents such as those that occurred on Saturday night in the Quadrilateral area. In this sense, the recordings of the security cameras installed on public roads will be reviewed to take the appropriate measures against the people who caused the altercations.
Alejandro Marrero recalls that “last October, the security measures applied to prevent the consumption of alcohol in the street and guarantee normality in the area, gave very good results. We are going to demand that coordination be redoubled by all the forces of public order and increase the police presence to prevent a situation like the one we had to face at the beginning of the course in the Quadrilateral and other places of nightlife and guarantee compliance with the established regulations that allow combining the right to leisure with neighborhood rest.
