SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 11 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, held a working meeting this Friday with the board of directors of the Provincial Federation of Construction Entities (Fepeco), headed by its president, Óscar Izquierdo, to explain the main investments in works and public infrastructures planned by the insular corporation for this year and that add up to a total of 190 million.
“We have met today with the representatives of Fepeco to talk about investments in Tenerife, about the budgets that have already been approved for 2022, with an ambitious action plan throughout the island that we are already implementing in many of the municipalities” , has pointed out.
Pedro Martín has also emphasized “the need to use public works as a catalyst for the economy but, above all, the importance “of maintaining a relationship of collaboration and joint work in everything that can benefit Tenerife” .
The island president has referred, among others, to the Priority Works Program, which contemplates an investment of 3.3 million euros to meet the needs of municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants, and has highlighted the increase of 12 million euros of the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2022-2025, which will have a global item of 60 million euros.
For his part, Óscar Izquierdo has shown Pedro Martín his “full willingness to work together to strengthen Tenerife”.
Izquierdo added that “at the moment the island needs the unity and consensus of all political forces” and for this reason he asked all political parties “to unite for Tenerife”, and also civil society.

“We all have to go together, together with the island institution, to get the island up, which is quite lacking,” he said.
Izquierdo has assured that it has been a “very fruitful” meeting, in which “all issues related to construction have been addressed in a serious and sincere way”, and has stressed that Fepeco is an ally of the Cabildo and the island from Tenerife.
“We show our willingness to collaborate and offer the construction sector to the Cabildo de Tenerife as an essential platform to build the island,” he concluded.
Pedro Martín has highlighted the firm commitment of the Cabildo de Tenerife to strengthen alliances with municipalities and to promote works of general interest that allow it to continue generating employment and the local economy.
In this sense, he recalled that the accounts of the Island Corporation for 2022 contemplate 190 million euros for investments, specifically, for the execution of public works, infrastructure and equipment throughout the island, with which it wants to promote socioeconomic development .
Among them, the Masca jetty, the rehabilitation of the Parque de Las Mesas in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Valleseco beach, the improvement of the coastline in Fasnia, the rehabilitation of the La Campana Industrial Estate, the Insular Water Sports Center in Puerto de la Cruz, the Padre Anchieta footbridge in La Laguna, the burying of the Esperanza highway as it passes through Padre Anchieta or the construction of a socio-sanitary center in Arico, among others.
