The City Council of La Laguna will invest some 60,000 euros in different improvements in the Municipal Market, which are intended to be implemented during the first half of this year, and among which the publication of the first commercial guide of the installation stands out. This was announced by the councilor for the area, Carla Cabrera, who recalled the recent implementation of a capacity control system and pointed out that in the short term other actions will be added, such as the renovation of the land, which “is quite deteriorated and we are going to to replace, we are going to change the color for a more striking one that also highlights the products of the Market and modernize it a bit, and with a more resistant material”.
In addition, the mayor continued, “another complaint from the merchants was that in summer the blinds do not reach the ground and the sunlight enters them and they are quite hot, and we are going to test if it is reduced with some micro-perforated vinyl on the windows” , and if not another solution will be sought. A new ice-making machine will also be installed, after changing the cold room last year, and “the exterior canvases will also be renewed, in 2021 the roof structure will be put on and now the side canvases will be put on, which they are deteriorated”, added Cabrera.
It should be noted that the first commercial guide of the Market will be published from the area, with all its positions and its offer, for which “in the coming weeks I will meet with the successful bidder to see the line in which we want the guide and that they be placed by position talking with the merchants, “explained the mayor. The intention is for it to be published “by the middle of the year at the latest”, she added, and about a thousand paper copies will be published, transferring all its information to social networks.
Future
Some measures aimed at meeting the demands of merchants and improving the infrastructure of the Market in its current location, in which work is being done on the future project in the Plaza del Adelantado.
