Endesa allocates a budget item of 4.3 million euros, to be executed in the three-year period between 2021 and 2023, for the development of different actions in the electrical network of the municipality of La Laguna.
Some works that will result in the improvement of the quality of the electricity supply of 81,813 customers of the company registered in the aforementioned municipality of Tenerife. Thus, Endesa, through the subsidiary E-distribución, will undertake in three years a total of 124 actions in different parts of the lagoon geography.
Recently, the mayor of the city, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, met with the general director of Endesa in the Canary Islands, Pablo Casado, to obtain specific information about the status of the works to be undertaken in terms of electrification in his municipality. They also jointly addressed those points where it is necessary to intervene to reduce power outages and shorten supply restoration times.
In fact, the Bajamar arealocated on the coastline and exposed to strong winds and storms, a climatological situation that influences the power lines, will be subjected to an important action to renew supports for the power lines, protection systems and to strengthen the line with a ringed circuit, which which will reduce breakdowns and shorten replacement times.

Among the measures to be adopted by Endesa to improve the La Laguna electrification system is the incorporation of 24 remote controls in distribution centers, an action that will help minimize the replacement time in the event of an incident and the isolation of faults in the network.
In addition, it is contemplated to carry out seven reform projects for the renovation of the entire electrical infrastructure in the existing distribution centers, as well as works in four ring closures of the distribution network. In fact, the three with the greatest impact are expected to be connected during the first half of this year.
Among the rings planned is the one that will connect the centers of the Rambra Building and the Nautilus apartments by means of underground canalization, with 560 meters of canalization closing the Bajamar-PT line.

Another of the ring line works will connect the Homician and El Porvenir centers of the Sandres1Ma line, right in Punta Hidalgo. As well as the closure project for the Los Baldíos well and the new cemetery for the EsperanzaC line, which will have one kilometer of pipeline and, in addition, the corresponding reforms in the distribution centers. These three actions will have a positive and direct effect on the quality of supply for more than 5,000 customers.
Part of the investment of 4.3 million destined by the first electricity company in Spain and the second in Portugal to the municipality of La Laguna will be to update the Tejina line, with replacement of supports and other reforms in medium voltage overhead lines that require of modern and more resistant replacement material.
