SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 9 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has reached a collaboration agreement with the NGO International Cooperation in the Canary Islands to offer volunteering actions to the elderly, young people and students.
The activities will be launched in a coordinated manner through the ‘Tenerife Isla Solidaria’ program managed by the public company Sinpromi and the entity.
The CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, thanked the willingness of International Cooperation that now strengthens its collaboration with the program.
Until now they have actively participated in the educational campaign ‘I’m counting on you’, which ‘Tenerife Isla Solidaria’ brings closer to educational centers showing their work among students.
“It is important to create synergies, a collaboration network with other citizen entities to share experiences and that can be enriched,” Gugliotta highlights in a note.
The Minister for Participation states that among the planned collaboration activities is the participation of International Cooperation volunteers in the volunteer opportunities managed by ‘Tenerife Isla Solidaria’.
In addition, it is proposed that the entity form a direct part of the ‘I’m counting on you’ campaign to promote youth volunteering, which takes place in educational centers on the island, offering at least five exhibitions in the centers as well as workshops face-to-face or telematically.
It is also expected that the resources of the ‘Tenerife Isla Solidaria’ program will be added to the Christmas campaign launched by International Cooperation for the care of the most vulnerable groups, as well as the ‘Zero Quota in the Metropolitan Area’ food distribution within his ‘DNA Program’.
In any case, both parties agree through this agreement to forge the necessary alliances to support each other in any need that may arise between the citizens, contributing their respective resources at all times.
The purpose of this agreement is to promote, enhance and raise awareness of volunteering on the island of Tenerife as well as values such as solidarity, equality, respect for diversity, inclusion or participation, among others, within the associative fabric and the volunteering to society as a whole.
The recipients of this collaboration are the general public, especially those interested in starting voluntary action but also those who already are, and also non-profit entities and organizations and the educational community and companies from their corporate social action .
