The traffic accident occurred at 6:54 p.m. at the access roundabout to the San Jerónimo industrial estateaccording to information provided by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes).
The octogenarian suffered various serious injuries, according to the first inspection, and health personnel from a medicalized ambulance of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) transferred her to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC).
The other person affected was a 30-year-old woman, who suffered several injuries and was evacuated to the aforementioned hospital in a basic life support ambulance. A man who was also in the car was uninjured.
The car fell from the upper part of the bridge down an embankment and ended up overturned sideways next to the highway. Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium of the La Orotava park intervened to rescue the two injured, who were trapped in the vehicle.
