The rehabilitation of the surface of the South highway (TF-1) covers this week the sections between the Tajao (46), San Isidro (55) and Los Cardones (57) junctions in both directions. Work begins at 10:00 p.m. today on the connection between the Environmental Complex and Tajao, for which the acceleration and deceleration lanes in the south direction will be closed.
On the night of Monday to Tuesday, the works are focused on the surface of junction 55 (San Isidro-El Médano-Granadilla), for which it will be necessary to close the deceleration lane and join the roundabout in the south direction. On Wednesday the improvement works will advance on the same junction, but in the direction of Santa Cruz, and on Thursday the rehabilitation will be carried out on junction 57 Los Cardones). To this end, the deceleration lane that provides access to Santa Cruz will remain inoperative, as well as those for joining the roundabout.
The works will take place from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., between tonight and Friday
These works are part of the resurfacing plan for the TF-1 who carries out the council since last April. They have an execution period of fourteen months, approximately. In total, the works, carried out by the Sacyr company, will comprise nearly 40 kilometers of the South highway between Adeje and Arico. They are carried out at night, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., to reduce inconvenience to drivers.
The island councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, insists that “these works place Tenerife as a benchmark in the national territory in terms of sustainability, due to the innovative work technique and the volume of material that is reused.” He explains that “50% of the material is recycled, through the treatment of existing asphalt on the road.”
Carreteras informs that every night the appropriate indications will be established to facilitate the transit of vehicles in each of the affected links, with the corresponding detours.
