Sustainability and innovation are the backbone of the debate in the framework paper by the Socialist Party (PSOE) of Tenerife. The Insular Committee yesterday approved the document, which will now be transferred to local groups so that it is the militancy that contributes ideas and thus be able to enrich its content.
The text has been prepared by 27 people from all over the island and with different professional profiles. It is a participatory document whose common thread is based on the Sustainable Development Goals. The intention of this document is to lay the foundations for what the socialist militancy wants for the future of the island of Tenerife; hence, it is a working instrument in which all the groups, with the contributions of the militancy, will be able to make their contribution.
During the Insular Committee, a resolution was also approved that shows the satisfaction of the party for the approval of the labor reform in the Congress of Deputies. Now, after the presentation of the framework paper, the document will be definitively approved at the next Insular Congress of the PSOE in Tenerife, which will be held on March 19 and 20. During its development, each of the work commissions will study the amendments that are presented by the militancy and will decide which ones are incorporated into the text definitively.
The document is structured in three main axes around economic, social and environmental sustainability, and these are divided into six thematic fields. The first of them addresses the economy and employment, where the productive sectors are developed from a sustainable perspective; the second deals with citizenship rights, and the third focuses on social protection. The fourth block is focused on the ecological transition and the fifth refers to sectors such as education, culture and sport, “as signs of identity and as points of active participation”. Finally, the sixth block promotes municipalism and the relationship between the island administration and the town councils, as the closest institutions.
