The Department of Culture of the City Council of Adeje has announced the opening of registration for those interested in participating in the representation of The Passion, in which the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ is represented. For the first time in the 25 editions of this act, there will be a casting for the main roles, which will take place on the 21st and 22nd of this month in the afternoon at the Costa Adeje Tourist Development Center.

Interested persons can register on the website adeje.es, where, in addition to personal data, they can choose the character or characters they want to opt for. The texts that must be interpreted on the day of the casting are published on the same website. The historical protagonists that can be chosen include the main roles, Jesus and Mary, but also others such as Herod, Pilate, Caiaphas, Judas, Simon Peter, Annas, Veronica or Nicodemus.

From the City Council it is recalled that for the characters of San Juan, María Magdalena, Herodías and Claudia it is necessary to have a good level of singing, since they interpret various musical themes. There is also the possibility of signing up to participate as an extra as a town.

COVID-19 will prevent La Pasión de Adeje, which has not been held for two years, from being staged in its usual format. The organization will inform at the time what the chosen formula is, although it advances that, with the majority of the population vaccinated, it is allowed to articulate a format that responds to the demand of the people who participate year after year.
