The Santa Cruz City Council today hosts an Extraordinary Plenary Session in which several points will be addressed, including the state of execution of the DUSI Anaga. According to the PSOE, convener of the plenary together with the rest of the opposition groups (UP and Cs), the government team, at least until today, has not been able to specify the end date of the DUSI, since, although they defend that they have until December 2023 to finish the projects and justify the expense, the PSOE points out that in all the documents consulted, the completion of these projects is established in 2022, so it does not seem that the City Council had time to finish and justify the investment . “We have requested access to the files but they have not provided us with any document that reflects that the DUSI Anaga has authorization to end in 2023,” explained former socialist mayor Patricia Hernández.
The risk that would be run, of not having that specific authorization to complete projects next year, would be the obligation to return the money that was granted, which amounts to more than 17 million euros.
The Government team defends the work carried out so far and ensures that they are not only on time but that, to date, 68% of the DUSI Anaga budget has already been paid or tendered for execution. They also claim to have all the spending certifications that the European Union has been approving.
In addition to the debate on the DUSI, the Situation of the Covid in Santa Cruz and the measures taken will also be addressed, as well as the conditions of COVID in the forecast of actions by the City Council, the Development Society, the Autonomous Organism of Festivities and the Municipal Institute of Social Attention.
