SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 4 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands opened last Monday the registration period for companies in the La Palma sector to benefit from the tourist voucher program launched together with the central Government for a total value of 6 .6 million euros.
Of this amount, 5.6 million are allocated to 20,000 vouchers worth 250 euros each, while the remaining million euros are invested in regional and national promotional campaigns, which will increase interest in traveling to La Palma. Added to this are the 2.65 million euros for incentives for air connectivity to the island.
The public company Turismo de Islas Canarias manages the La Palma tourist vouchers, an initiative that is open to all businesses based in La Palma and registered in the General Tourist Registry in the categories of accommodation, restaurants, tourist activities, active tourism and whale watching.
The Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla, has encouraged the representatives of the palm tourism sector to participate in this strategy, designed to increase the arrival of visitors to the island after the break suffered by the sector after the eruption of the volcano.
“The objective we are pursuing with these bonds is to attract high foreign tourist spending to La Palma that serves to boost the whole of local economic activity”, recalls Castilla, who insists that in order to achieve this goal “it is essential to have the complicity and with the collaboration of the palmero private sector”.
The companies on the Island have until December 1 to register, “although it is better that they do so as soon as possible, since the first draw will be held in March and there will already be 4,000 winning families who will be able to start deciding where they want to consume its 250 euros”, highlighted the managing director of Promotur Turismo de Islas Canarias, José Juan Lorenzo.
THE ADHESION PROCESS
To benefit from the 20,000 tourist vouchers, palm companies in the sector must go to the website www.bonolapalma.com to join the program.
In addition, to resolve any doubts that may arise during the process, Turismo de Canarias has enabled the Bono La Palma Customer Service, with the telephone number 828008002, which can be called from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., as well as the email [email protected]
All companies must have at least one physical POS with a business number (FUC) that identifies them in the payment service for the execution of the corresponding operations carried out with prepaid cards, being necessary that the disbursement be made in the establishment itself attached.
Once the companies have completed the form and accepted the conditions, an automated query will be made to the General Tourist Registry to verify their inclusion in it. Subsequently, the company will receive an email to the contact email referred to in the form to allow validation and thus form part of the La Palma Tourist Voucher membership program.
Once validated, it will be incorporated into the list of private entities on the website, where Spanish residents over 18 years of age who are going to apply for one of the vouchers will be able to consult where they can consume them. The data that will be published of each business will be: commercial name, address, geolocation, telephone and link to the web. The draw for the 20,000 bonds will be held before a notary on a monthly basis, from March to September.
