Agents of the National Police have arrested three men between the ages of 21 and 35 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, all of them with police records, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence or intimidation committed in a department store in the Ofra neighborhood.
The events occurred on January 19, at 9:00 a.m., when two individuals broke into a Camino del Hierro department store, taking advantage of the fact that there were no customers and that the worker, a 29-year-old woman, was alone in the establishment.
At knifepoint, one of the robbers jumped over the counter and wielding it in front of the young woman’s face ordered her to keep quiet and not move, causing her minor injuries with the knife she was carrying.
While the other robber kept watch, they seized 350 euros in cash that was in the cash register and more than 50 packs of tobacco. In addition, before fleeing, the victim’s mobile phone was also stolen.
The investigators of the National Police appeared at the scene and collected the first data and statements, which served to identify a rental vehicle used in the escape, driven by a third collaborating man also in the violent robbery.
The rapid police action made it possible to locate the vehicle, abandoned on the shoulder of the TF-5 motorway.
This discovery opened a line of investigation thanks to which the alleged robbers were quickly identified, who were finally arrested.
The investigations carried out after his arrest confirmed the initial hypotheses of the agents.
One of the knives allegedly used was intervened and, in the search of the home of one of those arrested, the agents found the clothing used in the violent robbery.
The detainees, after being placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, were placed in preventive detention.
The actions were carried out by national police officers from the Investigation Group of the National Police Station of the Northern District.
