The strong wind will continue this Friday on the summits of Tenerife

The yellow warning for strong winds Canary Islands will be deactivated this Thursday throughout the Archipelago except on the island of Tenerifewhere the wind pre-alert will continue in force from midnight (00.00 hours) on Friday, according to the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government.

The notice will affect the area of ​​summits of Tenerife, in the National Park of El Teide and surrounding areas, above 1,800 meters. The wind will blow from the south moderate to strong, with gusts that may exceed 70 kilometers per hour.

Locally very strong gusts are also not ruled out on the north and west slopes of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, more likely during Friday morning. It will blow from a weak north component in the western islands with the exception of the central peaks of Tenerife.

The presence of haze will continue without, in principle, reducing visibility, although it will be more noticeable in the eastern islands, according to the forecast of the Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet) for tomorrow.

For the rest, during the early morning and early morning hours of Friday, the sky will be cloudy with medium and high clouds and will begin to open clearings in the western islands from noon. It will tend to be slightly cloudy throughout the archipelago in the afternoon, except for a few intervals of low clouds in the western islands.

The minimum temperatures will be in slight decrease and the maximum in slight rise in west-facing areas of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and central peaks of Tenerife. In the rest of the zones, without changes.

LANZAROTE

Cloudy with medium and high clouds, beginning to open some clear in the afternoon and with a predominance of clear skies at the end of the day. Remarkable presence of haze. Minimum temperatures with few changes, and the maximum slightly rising in areas facing west, the rest unchanged. Southeast wind with strong intervals during the first half of the day, when locally very strong gusts are not ruled out in La Graciosa and north and west slopes.

FUERTEVENTURA

Cloudy with medium and high clouds, beginning to open some clear in the afternoon and with a predominance of clear skies at the end of the day. Remarkable presence of haze. Minimum temperatures with few changes, and the maximum slightly rising in areas oriented to the northwest, the rest without changes. Southeast wind with strong intervals during the first half of the day, when locally very strong gusts are not ruled out on the west coast.

GRAND CANARY

Cloudy with medium and high clouds, beginning to open clear in the early afternoon and tending to clear skies towards the end of the afternoon. Remarkable presence of haze. Minimum temperatures in slight decrease, the maximum without changes. Southeast wind with strong intervals during the first half of the day on the north and west slopes. In the afternoon it will decrease to loose.

TENERIFE

In the morning, cloudy with medium and high clouds, beginning to open clear at noon. In the afternoon, intervals of low clouds on the north slope, clear in the rest. Presence of haze. Minimum temperatures in slight decrease. Highs in central summits in slight ascent, the rest without changes. Loose southeast wind in the early hours that will turn to a loose north with breezes on the east coast. In central summits, strong southwest with probable very strong gusts, mainly during the first half of the day.

LA GOMERA

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds in the early hours. Starting at noon, intervals of low clouds on the north slope, the rest, clear. Presence of haze. Temperatures without changes or in slight decrease. Loose north component wind, somewhat more intense in extreme east and west. Breezes on the south coast.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): San Sebastián de La Gomera 17 24

THE PALM

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds in the early hours, and from noon, intervals of low clouds. Presence of haze. Temperatures with few changes or in slight decrease. Loose north component wind, predominance of breezes on the coasts.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Santa Cruz de La Palma 15 23

THE IRON

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds in the early hours, and from noon, intervals of low clouds. Presence of haze. Slightly falling temperatures. Loose north component wind, somewhat more intense in extreme west and northeast. Coastal breezes.
