The Telesforo Bravo-Juan Coello Foundation has recently denounced on its social networks the lack of civility seen these days in the Canyons of Teide due to the snowfall that fell a few days ago in the area. “A paradise for madmen”, reflected in his publication, along with a 30-second video that shows how several people they circulate with their bicycles along the white slope in the vicinity of the Corral del Niño viewpoint.
The corporation directed by Jaime Coello, whose name alludes to that of his grandfather and father, recalls that “what these people do is absolutely prohibited.” “The lack of environmental education, civility and means of surveillance turn this protected natural area into a recreational park,” he says.
In this regard, Teide National Park workers warn that improperly parked vehicles can be fined at any time. During the weekend, the Civil Guard patrolled the space while recording images of cars and vans blocking the road or parked on endemic plants.
The brooms are the main affected, since by improvising parking lots next to the traffic routes, many of them end up crushed.
