The Cabildo gives the green light to the Sí Podemos Canarias proposal to extend the schedule of line 238, which covers the bus service between Santa Cruz and San Matías. A measure that “responds to the needs of the residents of the area, who endure long waits and displacements due to the current schedule.”
Its spokesperson, María José Belda, highlights that the users of San Matías raised with the United Municipal Group of Podemos in Santa Cruz the suitability of improving the service due to “the null availability of buses in the time slot between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m.
Belda stresses that the problem occurs at the time of day when the shift changes in educational centers and companies, which “causes long waits” as well as journeys on foot of more than two kilometers.
The agreement also contemplates studying the improvement of the frequency beyond 8:40 p.m., since it is the last moment of the day in which line 238 carries out its service in this area. This will favor the use of public transport by the population of the area, he points out.
