A group of unscrupulous dedicated last morning to deface the famous sculpture of Mencey Bentor, located in Icod el Alto, in the Tenerife municipality of The Realejos. White paint, some letters and little else is the expression of the vandalism committed against this work carried out in 1996 by Carmen Luis León.
Fortunately, the paint was still fresh and the municipal cleaning services were able to remove it without much trouble.
The Local Police has initiated an investigation that may find the perpetrators of this outrage.
The sculpture is made of bronze and is located at the El Lance viewpoint.
