Tenerife will honor the Patron Saint without the most popular acts

The pandemic continues to condition the programming, although its evolution will allow a greater number of events to be held compared to those carried out in February of last year.

The first of them is the so-called Route along the Camino Viejo de Candelaria, which begins at 7:30 a.m. this Saturday from Llano del Moro (El Rosario) to Plaza de la Patrona. In the Basilica of the Villa Mariana, two Eucharists will be celebrated today, at 8:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m., while at 5:15 p.m. they will pray the holy rosary, half an hour before (6:45 p.m.) of the musical-poetic recital by the Poetas Uni-Verso collective and the Villa de Candelaria Choir.

Sunday, 30.

Tomorrow’s session is reserved in the program and exclusively for religious events, such as the celebration of the Eucharist at 8:00, 10:00, 12:00 and 18:00, as well as the recitation of the Holy Rosary , at 5:15 p.m.

Tuesday, February 1.

The eve of the day of Our Lady of Candelaria repeats the same programming that is contemplated for tomorrow, Sunday.

Wednesday, February 2.

It is the day on which the main events take place in honor of the Patron Saint of the Canary Islands, which includes the Eucharist presided over by the Bishop of the Nivariense Diocese, Bernardo Álvarez, which will be sung by the Orfeón La Paz de La Laguna and broadcast live. by Mírame Televisión, at 12:00.

On the afternoon of February 2, the Tafuriaste Cultural Association will make an offering of drumbeats and pay their respects to the Virgin. It will do so at 5:00 p.m., while at 5:15 p.m. the prayer of the rosary will take place and at 6:00 p.m., another Eucharist.

Thursday, 3.

Coinciding with the liturgical festivity of San Blas, masses will be celebrated at the Basilica of Candelaria at 8:00 and 18:00, with the recitation of the holy rosary at 17:15.

Saturday, 5.

The Cine Viejo Cultural Space will host, at 8:00 p.m., the seventh edition of the Agustín Ramos Chamber Music Festival, with the multidisciplinary show The Ocean We Share.

Sunday, 6.

The last day of the program of events in honor of the Patron Saint of the Canary Islands begins with the Artistic-Musical Association La Candelaria, from Arafo, which at 11:00 a.m. will stage a parade along Calle Obispo Pérez Cáceres (or Calle de La Arena). It will culminate with the floral offering.
