Candelaria does not have a beach or a limited space for dogs because users reject it. Olivia Pérez, Councilor for Social Services, Equality and Health, explained to the Plenary yesterday that the result of “a public consultation” carried out two years ago “was quite disappointing.” From it, it emerged that “people do not agree with sharing or allowing the use of a beach, either totally or partially, not even during limited hours.”

That was the end of the Yes You Can petition to provide Candelaria with a service similar to that of Güímar in El Puertito. Olivia Delgado explained that For this purpose, the Las Caletillas beach area was considered closest to the extinct Tenerife Tour hotel and next to the power plant, next to Cho Vito, which was ruled out because there was a risk to the animals.

In response to a question raised by Raquel Castro (PP), Delgado was inclined to take up the initiative, “despite the disappointing result,” and to raise another query, taking into account that Candelaria “has an important animal census.”

In the ordinary session held yesterday, the plenary session of Villa Mariana unanimously approved the extension of the agreement with the council to execute the project to refurbish the coastline of Playa de Las Caletillas and Paseo Graciliano Ruiz Rodríguez and Calle Semidán. Extension that will be for one year and that establishes January 18, 2023 as the date on which it will expire.

With the votes of the PSOE and the abstention of VxC, the Yes You Can petition to rehabilitate and make accessible transport stops on demand was rejected. The enabled information points are not stops, because the user can request the service at any point of the route.
