SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the PP, Pablo Casado, met this Friday with the recently elected president of the party in the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, to address proposals to improve the taxation of companies that work in the Canary Islands, the approval of a law for the reconstruction of La Palma that shields all the approved aid plans and definitively put a stop to the constant rise in the arrival of irregular immigrants to the coasts.
In the framework of taxation, the PP of the Canary Islands requires the Government to extend from the current four to six years of tax benefits for those companies that operate in certain areas of the islands, in accordance with the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) of the Canary Islands, in order to promote the economic and social development of the archipelago and diversify its productive structure.
The PP informs in a note that this Tuesday the royal decree-law amending the Economic and Fiscal Regime of the Canary Islands was validated in Congress with the support of the PP although with the claim, “to which the Government turned its back, of that it be processed as a bill so that the validity of tax benefits for companies of 4% in force in the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) be extended not only four years (2023-2027) but six years, until 2029 “.
ARMOR FOR THE PALM
The popular ones point out that “before the improvisation of the Sánchez government, which only puts patches and patches in the face of the situations that it is encountering”, they have agreed to promote a global reconstruction plan, with coherent and carefully studied measures, for the island of La Palm.
It would be, basically, to shield by law the requirement of compliance with the plans approved for La Palma, which has an endowment of 1,000 million euros.
The president of the PP in the Canary Islands has also conveyed to Casado his concern about the significant rise in the arrival of irregular immigrants to the coasts “which is causing the situation in the Islands to be completely overwhelmed.”
In his opinion, “it is essential to reinforce our borders with a greater police presence, increase social endowment, with better infrastructures and establish a plan that guarantees orderly immigration, that tackles the increase in the actions of organized mafias that traffic in human beings”.
