The lawyer José Miguel Morín leads one of the three candidates that are presented this Saturday for the presidency of the Náutico del Puertito de Güímar, while the other two are headed by the current president, Carlos Romero, and by Miguel Ángel Castro Rodríguez. The fact that two alternatives to the current directive are presented reflects the concern of the members (2,022) to improve a club that has been dormant for some time, in such a way that there are many who put their shares up for sale, even below the 1,000 euros.
“My interest in presenting myself -explains Morín- has a lot to do with my children, due to the scant interest they have in children and young people, just with a playground, a toy library and a table with a television, with a library with a computer from the eighties”, explained the candidate.
“The club has only looked at racket sports, with up to eight paddle tennis courts, but I also bet on beach volleyball, basketball or seven-a-side football, and I have transferred it to representatives of the Haris, Canarias or Tenerife, just as I have convinced Echeyde to start water polo courses in our Olympic pool”. “We need an urgent facelift, with private financing and sponsorships to create, for example, a spa and more restaurants, such as one in the port, in addition to fixing the problem of discharges from the dry dock or Puertos Canarios withdraws our concession” .
