The GES helicopter has rescued two hikers who had been lost on the Costas de La Gomera Nature Trail, in the municipality of Valle Gran Rey, today, Wednesday, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 .
The events began yesterday, Tuesday, shortly before half past eight at night, when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert informing them that two hikers had gotten lost on the aforementioned path and needed help to get out. of the place.
The Cecoes activated a device made up of a rescue helicopter from the GES, a basic life support ambulance from the SUC, members of the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) and a helicopter from the Civil Guard, Valle Gran Rey Volunteer Firefighters, Emergency Assistance Anaga (AEA), Civil Protection and Local Police.
Early this morning, the GES helicopter located the hikers at two different points and proceeded to rescue them and transfer them to Puerto de Vueltas in Valle Gran Rey.
There, a basic life support ambulance from the SUC was waiting for her, whose personnel assisted both women and transferred them to the Valle Gran Rey Health Center for their assistance. One of the women, aged 77, had a moderate head injury. The other, aged 70, was unharmed.
The Firefighters collaborated in the rescue tasks and secured the area for the landing of the GES helicopter. AEA, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and the Local Police collaborated in the search and rescue of those affected.
