SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has reached a commitment with the Federation of Rondallas del Carnaval de Santa Cruz to collaborate with 22,000 euros each year, as stated in the budget of the Department of Culture.
The director responsible for that department, Enrique Arriaga, met today Monday with the president of the Federation of Rondallas, José Antonio Pérez.
Arriaga confirmed that the legal problem to be able to grant contributions for this and future years has been resolved, since, until now, this subsidy had no legal basis.
The Minister of Culture also expressed his willingness to reach an agreement to grant them an extraordinary contribution, to help them compensate for the years in which they could not receive it for legal reasons.
Enrique Arriaga was “very satisfied with the meeting with a group that is emblematic of our Carnival; they constitute a hallmark of our festivities and I think that both parties value the agreement reached.”
“We trust that, if circumstances allow, we can soon enjoy their performances, not only at the Santa Cruz Carnival, but also outside the capital,” added the vice president of the Cabildo.
For his part, the president of the Federation of Rondallas of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Antonio Pérez, thanked the Minister of Culture for his willingness to obtain a solution to the problem that the group had.
“The meeting has been positive and for us it is a satisfaction to have the collaboration of the Cabildo again, an administration that has been concerned about the rondallas and that now, in the circumstances we are going through, it is more necessary than ever,” he said. .
The Federation of Rondallas of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is made up of eight groups.
