Martín assures that he will continue with the transfer of the users of the Febles Campos

The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Peter Martin, has advanced this Monday that the Corporation will continue with the procedure for transferring users from the Febles Campos residence to the La Laguna Seminar and believe that the judicial case opened for the alleged crimes of prevarication, embezzlement of public funds and prohibited negotiations with officials “is not going to have any scope.”

Speaking to journalists, he pointed out that still “nothing has been awarded to anyone” and the file is “very rigorous”, much more than the one found at the beginning of the legislature and with which it was intended to transfer the users of the Febles Campos to an “office building” in Cabo Llanos –owned by businessman Antonio Plasencia– which was empty and had to be furnished spending “a fortune”.

The president of Tenerife has indicated that there is some “particular interest” in hindering and paralyzing this transfer by judicial means and using it as a “pressure tool” against the Cabildo. “You have to accept it,” he detailed.

Martín has commented that he will give an account of the file in court – he is investigated along with three other counselors, among others – and has assured that he has “the guarantee” that there is “no report against” and “no questioned decision from a legal or economic point of view.

In addition, he has pointed out that until now “there has never been a real alternative to transfer” and the Cabildo is looking for an “adequate solution” for the elderly and a “dignified place” for them to be cared for.
