
A 35-year-old man has suffered various moderate injuries, except for complications, after falling with his paraglider in the southern municipality of Adeje. The man had to be evacuated from the scene by the GES helicopter and transferred by basic life support ambulance from the SUC to Hospiten Sur.
Specifically, the events occurred at 1:08 p.m. this Monday, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing that a paraglider had suffered a crash in the Taucho take-off area.
The 1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary and effective emergency resources of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, they accessed the affected person, provided first assistance and requested the Coordination Center the intervention of an aerial resource to carry out the evacuation in conditions of security.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter, together with the Firefighters, proceeded to rescue the paraglider and evacuated him to the Adeje Volunteer Firefighters helipad.
Once on land, the SUC staff assisted the athlete and transferred him to the aforementioned hospital.
For its part, the local police carried out the corresponding procedures.
