SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The CC-PNC group in the Cabildo de Tenerife criticizes this Friday the non-compliance of the PSOE and Ciudadanos to transfer the 250 patients of the Febles Campos Hospital to a suitable center and regrets that this situation continues to affect both the users and the 530 workers of the Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS) that provide their services.
The nationalist counselor, Blanca Pérez, asked this Friday in the plenary commission of the Presidency and Social Action about the delay in the transfer, but Marian Franquet was unable to offer a concrete answer on the date, collects a note from the Nationalist Group.
“We ask that patients be properly attended to in a suitable center. Pedro Martín and Marian Franquet announced in June 2020 that they would take them to the Seminary, but to this day they still have not been transferred to that center or to any other. What we ask is that a solution be found now because the situation is unsustainable,” explains Pérez.
The CC-PNC counselor assures that it is “yet another breach” of the PSOE.
“They said that they would resolve the situation and that they had found the solution by transferring them to the Seminary. Two years later, the patients are still in Febles Campos. Is that fulfilling or not telling the truth? They also said that Ansina would continue and they eliminated him and fired the workers. And they haven’t built a single new public health plaza since they arrived,” he says.
The nationalist formation recalls that in September 2021 it requested information about the actions that Martín and Franquet had carried out to transfer the patients, but received no response.
“Today we have once again requested information about the future of the patients and workers of Febles Campos and there is no response from the PSOE. We regret the obscurantism of the government team, but that will not prevent us from continuing to work to find a solution to the patients and IASS workers”, concludes Blanca Pérez.
In the case of this transfer, a judicial investigation has been opened that affects ten people, among them the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, the vice president, Enrique Arriaga, two councilors of the Cabildo – among them the president of the IASS, Marian Franquet — and representatives of the Bishopric and the company Clece.
The Court Number 4 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife investigates a possible surcharge paid to the company for the rental of the facilities in the La Laguna Seminary carried out without competition while the demolition and construction project of the new Febles Campos is undertaken.
