The Socialist Party (PSOE) from The rosary a “new stage” begins. This is how it points Angela Gil, which recently has been appointed spokesperson for this political formation in the municipality. «We are in a fairly advanced process of party reconstruction; we plan to turn it around and remake it with totally new people with desire and enthusiasm to work”, he maintains.
Gil, 33 years old and a law graduate, is currently a socialist councilor in the opposition. “I see this stage full of possibilities and I face it with great enthusiasm”, express. Will she be the candidate in the next municipal elections? “We don’t know that yet. The party, now this year, has an internal process that must be respected and it will be the members who decide it, “he says.
This change of direction includes self-criticism and forgiveness. “This has been a party that has had times of light and shadow in this municipality, with its errors and its defects,” says the new spokeswoman, before adding: “I cannot start this stage with new people without publicly apologizing to all the residents of this municipality in the name of this party for all the mistakes made in the past. As will be remembered, The management of the PSOE in El Rosario led to convictions in two notorious cases of corruption: Varadero, after attempting to build 1,000 homes in a protected area, and plugs, arisen after the hiring by hand of 135 municipal workers.
“I apologize to all the neighbors on behalf of the party for the mistakes of the past”
“The party is not just acronyms, but rather it is made up of people who want this municipality to move forward, with totally viable ideas and projects. We have a new team that will be announced in due course,” says Ángela Gil. «I can advance that the socialist party in El Rosario is going to experience a turnaround and is going to transform and with more unity than ever. Gone are the disunions; We are completely united and in order to recover everything that was lost, “he says.
Restore confidence
The spokeswoman thanks the work of those who have worked for the party so far and her predecessor in office, José Antonio Estévez, for giving her the opportunity and “thinking about the good of this project that must arise from scratch.” As he explains, from the formation they plan to “give a completely renewed air to the game, regain the trust of the neighbors, which is something fundamental for us, and be a reference when it comes to being next to the people and attending to their problems ».
“We have been visiting all the villages in the municipality of El Rosario for two and a half years and talking with the neighbors, and we will continue to do so and meet,” says Gil, who is from La Esperanza and considers the experience of touring the municipality as “a of the best and most beautiful» of his life. He specifies that from now on he will also sit down “with other institutions, such as the Cabildo de Tenerife, with advisers from the Government of the Canary Islands or with whomever is necessary.”
«We plan to turn the line-up upside down with totally new people»
And how do you see El Rosario right now? “In decline,” he replies. “We are very concerned that actions are not being carried out that are fundamental for El Rosario to be a benchmark in the Metropolitan Area and that, due to an erratic policy, the position and resources we have, which are not few, are not being taken advantage of,” the Mint. «We are currently experiencing the decline of privileged areas of the coast, such as Radazul and Tabaiba, and the abandonment of Bocacangrejo and Varadero. We are concerned about the midlands, which have a very high potential, from where we can promote tourism, such as the Machado area, an ideal enclave for it and we are wasting it, “he maintains, before stopping at citizen security problems on the coast.
“Forgotten Areas”
Ángela Gil also mentions the situation of “completely forgotten areas, such as a part of Barranco Hondo, Los Toscales, Las Barreras…”, and incorporates into her analysis “the decline that agriculture is suffering and the null policies that exist to encourage the return to field”.
Likewise, and among the aspects on which he disagrees with the current management, he refers to the “lack of democracy in the plenary sessions” and “the great detachment that is existing with our neighbors, who are not being listened to by the government group, not they are finding in the administration a way to fight for them and try to solve their problems». And he adds: «The politician is here by and for the people, to manage their resources as well as possible and not to impose ideas».
