The Canary Islands Government ends the situation wind alert, and leaves the archipelago on alert, on a morning in which air traffic over the skies of Tenerife has been marked by at least four diversions to the airport in the south of the island due to adverse weather, flight waiting times and missed approaches in Los Rodeos airport.
The powerful gusts of wind marked maximum speeds during the early hours of Monday of up to 99 kilometers per hour, such as the one registered in Arure, La Gomera; 98 kilometers per hour in Agulo; or 90 kilometers per hour in the town of Tejeda.
The wind caused minor damage on the different islands, highlighting among them the fall of a tree in the municipality of Willow, which prevented several neighbors from leaving their homes until the remains were evicted.
Rainfall also left significant values in the western province, up to more than 50 liters per square meter in La Orotava, or 38 liters per square meter in Izaña, while in Gran Canaria the records barely reached ten liters per square meter, insular maximum, in the upper part of the municipality of San Bartolome de Tirajana.
For tomorrow, Tuesday, according to the State Meteorological Agency, no significant phenomena are expected, but they remain in yellow notice by winds the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, La Gomera and El Hierro during the early hours of Tuesday, and the island of Tenerife, which extends the warning until five in the afternoon.
The skies will be presented with cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, as highlighted by the Aemet, with a possibility of light and scattered precipitation, a low probability of haze and an improvement in time as the hours go by. In addition, the temperatures will begin to rise slightly in the summits of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, all under a moderate southeast wind, except in the high areas, where it will blow from the south with more intensity.
