The Town Hall of the Municipality of Tacoronte recently concluded the refurbishment works of 170 parking spaces in the coastal area of sea table, where are they located the sand beach and natural pools. The intervention has made it possible to improve the planning of the parking lots next to the ficus building and win a dozen places, which will be available to residents and visitors for free.
The works were carried out at the rear of the aforementioned building, through whose roof the only access road passes. The parking lot was asphalted and, later, it was marked with a new provision that has allowed increase the number of parking spaces by 19%. In the entire area, as well as in the section of the access tunnel to the beach, a wearing course has been applied, “which is the first resurfacing carried out in that place since the original road was built, more than four decades”, according to the Government Group of Tacoronte, formed by Nueva Canarias (NC), PSOE and Sí se puede (SSP).
The project was executed by the Department of Works and Services, which directs Antonio Gil Goya (NC), who explains that the action was developed “applying criteria such as improving comfort for users or making better use of the available space, which has allowed us to gain new seats in a fairly limited space”.
Gil Goya, who recently visited the area together with the mayor, Jose Daniel Diaz, also a member of New Canary, highlights the achievement of adapting the available space to «be able to park 170 vehicles, which means having 12 new spaces, an important figure for sea table, given the scarcity of parking in this place”, especially during the summer period.
Jose Daniel Diaz He added that “these actions were very necessary, after many years without improvements being made in this coastal area.” In addition, he announced that it is still expected to “gain more spaces with the reorganization of the car parks located closer to the swimming pools.” And that his government is also preparing “a new battery of actions to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Table of the Mar».
