Canarian Coalition asks the island government “to expedite the payment of subsidies for a livestock sector in economic difficulties.” The councilor Antolín Bueno criticizes “the delay” and the “broken promises” of the person in charge of the insular area, Javier Parrilla.

Bueno describes the situation as “alarming”, with many farms without economic resources to feed the animals. He adds that “the PSOE is dedicated to making headlines and announcing what later does not comply.” He argues: “In April of last year they said that the aid for expenses derived from the feeding of all species would be the first to be paid, but the reality is that they have not been paid.” Sentence: «Animals do not feed on promises and the price of feed continues to rise progressively».

The CC counselor points out that “the item amounts to 1.3 million euros and more than 300 farms are waiting for it.” Bueno concludes: «Last September, Parrilla again said that they would pay the subsidies shortly, but in mid-January they still had not received them. The ranchers do not need more broken promises, but the money to be able to buy the feed».

468 million “unexecuted” in 2021

CC accuses the PSOE of “hiding information about the 468 million euros that remained to be executed as of October 31, 2021.” The nationalist formation has requested the appearance of the insular director of the Treasury, José Gálvez, in the Presidency and Social Action Commission. The group assures that it has reiterated its request up to five times. | jdm
