SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The island councilor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Zebenzuí Chinea, and the mayor of Fasnia, Damián Pérez, have signed this Monday the reconsideration act that will begin the works to improve municipal deposits and supply networks for the supply of drinking water in Fasnia for a value of 1,224,640 euros.

This action is included in the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2018-2021 and will be financed 90 percent by the Cabildo (1,102,176 euros) and 10 percent by the Fasnia City Council (122,464 euros).

Zebenzuí Chinea explains in a note that these works will make it possible to condition the Pino del Agua, Fasnia II, La Zarza and Las Eras reservoirs, “in order to improve their condition and adapt them to the sanitary criteria of water quality for human consumption.” .

The works will have an execution period of nine months, will be carried out by the company Canaragua Concesiones SA and will basically consist of the renovation of the main pipes, the installation of meters, self-dosing filtration and chlorination, and pressure reduction.

In this way, he points out, “all the water storage for human consumption in the municipality will be renewed and regularized in accordance with current regulations, which will have totally modern and future-oriented mechanisms.”

The island councilor explains that measures will also be taken to sectorize the supply network, and has highlighted that the Fasnia I and Zarza I deposits will be left out of the normal operation of the network, “remaining as a reserve for emergency situations”.

For his part, the mayor of Fasnia, Damián Pérez, thanks “the predisposition of Zebenzuí Chinea and his technical team”, and assures that it is a “key” project for the municipality “that will improve the service and hygienic conditions -sanitary of the drinking water network of our municipality, an issue that always worries”.
