The Sí Podemos Canarias Group in the Cabildo has taken stock of the past year with emphasis on two main axes: “the promotion of social policies” and “the fight against corruption”. The political formation, which supports the island government of PSOE and Cs from the outside, defends that “the agreements reached allow us to move towards the model of the Island that we defend in our program.” They consider that their role “has been key in the fight against corruption.”
Between plenary sessions and commissions, the group carried out 44 proposals throughout the year 2021. It closed with the approval and inclusion of 39 amendments to the budget for 2022.
Sí Podemos Canarias affirms that “we responded to the needs of those sectors most affected by the economic crisis generated by the pandemic.” Likewise, it values ”the steps towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly Island model”. And they influence “the defense of human rights and the promotion of anti-racist policies”
The insular group highlights “the advances in the persecution of corruption and irregular practices in the public companies of the Cabildo.” Today “they are investigated by the courts thanks to the supervisory work of the Boards of Directors.” From the purchase of land in Geneto that led to the so-called NAP case and the Geneto case or the control work carried out in the company Medical Institute of Tenerife (Imetisa) to the Casinos case and “the irregularities” in the Technological and Renewable Energy Institute ( ITER).
