Arona today begins the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of San Antonio Abad with the hoisting of the municipality’s flag. The pandemic has forced popular acts to be postponed pending the decision made by the Government of the Canary Islands on the 24th, when the alert levels will be reviewed. In the event that the situation improves, they would be held on the 28th, 29th and 30th. The religious ones will take place, although with the health security measures and capacity limitations.

Tomorrow, at 6:30 p.m., a mass will take place in the parish of San Antonio Abad. On Sunday at 10:30, the recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the service in honor of the patron thirty minutes later. Non-perishable food may be given as an offering.

On Monday the 17th, the day of the patron saint, another solemn mass will be celebrated in his honor starting at 6:30 p.m. The day will end with a fireworks display.
