SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife pays more than 638,000 euros in subsidies to the associative fabric of the island to promote social and citizen participation as well as attend to diversity and support associations.
In total, there are 73 third sector entities that already benefit from this aid.
Among the objectives of this set of subsidies, the CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, assures in a note that he is “laying the foundations to improve coexistence and social cohesion on the island, through the different projects that have presented the entities”.
In the end, he indicates, “they are the ones who know first-hand their needs as groups and also those of the people who are part of them and of whom they are beneficiaries.”
They also include as objectives the promotion of volunteering and participation projects as well as values of social justice such as solidarity, tolerance, respect, equality and non-discrimination, among others.
In the same way, recalls the CEO of Participation, “all the entities that have opted for this set of subsidies are attached to the Tenerife Isla Solidaria program”.
One aspect to highlight from this set of subsidies is, in the words of Gugliotta, “empowering the groups so that the scarcity of resources does not imply an impediment to carrying out their projects, which always represent a benefit for all the citizens of Tenerife”.
That is why it seeks to promote social reconstruction from community development and be a catalyst for groups to carry out their projects.
The approved applications, divided into six different lines of action, promote community development, Lgbtiq+ diversity, the inclusion of the Roma people and also of migrants, volunteer projects as well as financial support for the current expenses of the associations and collective.
For line 1, designed to promote citizen participation and community development, an amount of 90,000 euros is allocated, which is distributed among a total of 23 projects from 17 different groups.
Regarding line 2, the one that seeks to promote LGBTIQ+ diversity, 125,000 euros have been granted to be distributed among the five projects of three different entities.

Line 6 of this block of subsidies for the associative fabric of Tenerife contemplates an investment of 75,000 euros that will go towards economic support for the current expenses of a total of 52 social entities on the island.
This line focuses its objective on offering support for the payment of supplies such as water, electricity, gas and fuels; communications such as telephone, internet, mail or messaging; also for the purchase of consumable office supplies; insurance payments; the payment of leases, such as rental expenses or the community of the venues but also so that they can catch up on the payment of municipal taxes and fees that are actually paid by the beneficiary entity of the subsidy or consultancy expenses and even audits external.
