The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Autonomous Organization of Parties and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), opens from 00:00 this Thursday 13, the online voting period to choose the poster of the Carnival 2022 from among the ten finalist works selected by a jury appointed for this purpose.
The popular consultation that will designate, by majority vote, the work that will stand as announcer of the Science Fiction Carnival, it will be done exclusively through the web Tenerife Carnival and it will be open until next January 23 at 11:59 p.m.
Only one vote per IP address will be allowed and voting will be blind, so that there will be no references to the support that each of the posters collects during the process.
The Party Councilor, Alfonso Cabello, encourages “all citizens to participate, whether they are carnival lovers or not”; since “it is about something more than a simple poster”. For the mayor, it is “our business card to the world and one of our best assets in cultural, creative and leisure excellence.”
Cabello acknowledges that “on this occasion, it is difficult to opt for a specific work, given the high level of creativity raised for a theme that gives a lot of play”.
The popular voting process opens after last Monday, January 10, a jury of four experts selected the ten finalist works from among the 16 works submitted to the contest.
The jury was made up of the artist Julio Nieto; the graduate in Fine Arts and graphic designer from Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA), Cristina Saavedra; the artist and graduate in Fine Arts, Ana Seco; and the president of the Culture Classroom of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, Pedro Mengíbar.
The author of the winning proposal will obtain a prize of 2,500 euros and the poster will become the exclusive property of OAFAR.
The 10 works preselected by the jury for this final phase and ordered according to the entry record in the Autonomous Organization of Festivities and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), are: “A near future”, “Love”, “Let yourself be carried away by the dimension of Carnival “,” C-Arte-L del C-arnava-l: Carnival art is in the street “,” Andromeda Carnival “,” Hello, Chicharrícolas “,” Carnival Invasion “,” Casquimia “,” Carnival 2222? ” and “Abducida’22”.
