The House of El Llano, located in the surroundings of the farm that is used for the cattle fairs and the launching of the fires of El Sol street, will be transformed this year into the Museum of Traditions of Los Realejos. This space will review the many celebrations and customs of the town that presumes to be the most partying in Spain, with about 80 celebrations every year in each and every one of its populated areas, and will have space for other signs of identity such as the pretty potato, which was introduced in the Canary Islands through Icod el Alto 400 years ago.
The total cost of the project is 208,811 euros, financed 84% by the General Directorate of Tourist Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands, with a contribution of 175,404 euros. The City Council contributes the remaining 33,407 euros. The spokesman for the Royal Government, Adolfo González (PP), explains that this work will be awarded this year, “since there is an obligation for the work to be completed before December 31, 2022”.
With this financing, obtained after a long period of negotiations and negotiations, a project that has been drawn up by staff of the Los Realejos Town Hall, with the aim of increasing the tourist attraction of a town that has one of its main attractions and economic resource in its festivals and traditions.

For the local government, this agreement with the Regional Ministry of Tourism, who leads Yaiza Castilla, is a good example of inter-administrative collaboration that allows satisfying an old local demand, which highlights a key space for local festivals and traditions.
The rehabilitation of the House of El Llano It will allow to recover an architectural symbol of the municipality, make it accessible and turn it into a new attraction for visitors. The reform will respect the original structure of the building, to maintain its heritage and cultural value. In the exterior plot the unevenness will be corrected with ramps to connect the different spaces of the farm El Llano, where there will also be places for rest and walks, traditional orchards and a sample of ethnographic elements.
The House of El Llano, located in Realejo Alto, will be a key line in the strategic planning in the tourist promotion of the municipality from 2022. An “extremely exciting” project that, in the opinion of the Royal Government, “will do justice to the local history and its great cultural heritage.”
The plot where it will act has four independent buildings: the House of El Llano, which will house the premises of the Los Realejos Traditions Museum; a tasca-restaurant area; an annex for storage and toilets, and the existing winery. The old animal drinking fountains, the outdoor pond and an old bathroom will also be preserved.
