The Cabildo de Tenerife will allocate 600,000 euros to the Los Silos City Council in the 2022 budget for the acquisition of land for the future health center of the municipality, a “key infrastructure for the municipality that will meet a historical demand and facilitate primary care to the residents of this town on the island, “said the president of the Cabildo Pedro Martín.
Along these lines, he indicated that “this contribution supports the Cabildo’s interest in collaborating with all municipalities regardless of the political color of those who govern in them, thinking only of the interest of the island’s citizens.”
According to Martín, “since 2019 the Cabildo has invested in Los Silos more than 1.8 million euros, in works that are considered a priority for the municipality and with a view to the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2022-2025 it would obtain a total of 1,915,820 euros , which would mean an increase of 399,980 euros over the previous one “.
The island president has visited the municipality to see first-hand the progress of some of the works in which the island institution has participated, from the remodeling of the Plaza de La Luz, in which more than 60,000 euros have been invested to the demolition and execution of the retaining wall of the Las Salinas sports center, in the La Caleta neighborhood, for 131,206 euros.
In the same way, Pedro Martín reviewed the state of some infrastructures such as the municipal auditorium, the Juan Valiente stadium or the results of the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Mayor’s Office.
The Silense mayor, Macarena Fuentes, pointed out during the visit that “the Los Silos City Council had requested the presence of the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife to be able to explain some important issues that affect the municipality on the ground, such as water purification issues. , the municipal swimming pool and the priority works included in the cooperation plan “, and added that they have also taken the opportunity to convey to Pedro Martín some concerns of the municipality, such as the Aguadulce beach project, and visited some important work such as the municipal auditorium, in which the Cabildo will also intervene.
EXPANSION OF THE SANITATION NETWORK
The island councilor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzui Chinea, who also attended the visit, pointed out that “the island institution, through the Island Priority Municipal Works Program, has invested 200,000 euros in Los Silos and the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2018- 2021 in the municipality of Los Silos includes three projects, of which the most important is the expansion of the sanitation network, which has had a budget of 1,080,501 euros and whose action is pending reports from the City Council itself by lack of availability of land, which is in the expropriation phase and of Coastal reports “.
The second axis of the plan is that of the improvement and conditioning of sports infrastructures where 160,194 euros have been deposited and which is currently under execution.
These improvements have included the replacement of the Juan Valiente Football Field lawn and the reform of the Municipal Swimming Pool glass, and at present work is being done on the comprehensive improvement of the changing rooms, flooring and lighting of the CEIP Las Salinas sports center.
The third group of works corresponds to the improvement and conditioning of municipal buildings for 275,144 euros, including the rehabilitation of the Town Hall and the accessibility of the Old San Sebastián Convent building, as well as the action in the Municipal Auditorium Alfonso García Ramos.
