SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Governing Council of the Insular Institute for Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS), has approved the Innovation and Digital Transformation Program, a new management and planning instrument with which quality and effectiveness will be enhanced of the social services provided to citizens through the IASS centers and units, in order to better cover the social needs of the most vulnerable groups.

The Minister of Social Action and president of the IASS, Marián Franquet, explains in a note that this program responds to the objective of “defining and incorporating a flexible, rational and efficient organizational and operating model that allows optimizing resources, increasing transparency and introducing quality and excellence as the basis for continuous improvement that enables the satisfaction of users of the island’s social services system “.

The counselor highlights that the approval of the plan has been preceded by a broad participatory process with which it has been tried to involve and enhance the role of the IASS staff.

“For us it was necessary to listen to the personnel of the institute’s technical centers and units, so we started an internal participatory process, which included holding more than a dozen workshops and consultations in the centers and units of the Institute of the that 81 proposals raised by the workers were extracted “, points out Franquet.

For her part, the insular director of Innovation, Planning and Strategy of Social Action, Ascensión Bacallado, points out that this participatory work allows “strengthening the commitment to the quality of the services offered to citizens and the motivation of the staff” and He adds that the implementation of the program involves, among other actions, “enhancing the training of IASS staff and advancing in the modernization and digitization of processes, with a view to strengthening the institute’s structure and helping to achieve the objectives set” .

The preparation and approval of this Innovation and Digital Transformation Program is part of the Modernization Plan approved in 2020 by the Cabildo de Tenerife to improve, in all its areas, the quality of public services, reduce processing times and administrative burdens and promote transparency, participation and collaboration.

QUALITY ASSESSMENTS

For its execution, the IASS establishes a period of two years that will begin in 2022 and in which different instruments will be implemented for each of the planned lines of action.

Thus, in relation to the objective of guaranteeing continuous improvement of the quality of services and achieving the maximum satisfaction of society’s expectations and needs, the program establishes the application of various instruments, such as quality evaluations, service letters and treatment of complaints and suggestions, among other issues.

Other lines of action planned are aimed at promoting administrative simplification, electronic administration, innovation, talent management of the IASS staff and inter-administrative cooperation.
