The government of Cross port (PSOE-ACP) approved this Monday, January 10, 2022, in a telematic plenary session, the municipal budget for this year, which rises 5.72% compared to 2021 and reaches 38,337,476 euros. The tourist town will have in 2022 2,051,823 euros more, without resorting to debt, “with which actions in the social area and measures that promote the economic recovery that the city has been experiencing in recent months will continue to be prioritized,” as announced by the team led by the socialist Marco Gonzalez. The budget had the votes in favor of the councilors of the Government Group (PSOE-ACP) and with the votes against the opposition (PP-CC).
For the councilor responsible for Economic Progress, Carolina Rodríguez (PSOE), the new accounts “are adjusted to the local reality in a clear effort to align with the needs of the citizens of Porto”. And he adds that they collect a forecast for 2022 in a scenario that is still uncertain due to the advance of the sixth wave of the pandemic, so from the Economic area it has opted for continuity and prudence with respect to last year’s income and expenses.

“An increase of 170,000 euros in aid to families in the municipality is expected”
«Assistance and attention to the social needs of the population is a primary concern and objective for this government, since they are the ultimate reason for all the policies that are developed, and that is why an increase of 170,000 euros has been promoted of aid to the families of the municipality ”, stated Rodríguez. In addition, the Municipal Plan for the Homeless with 40,000 euros, and the amount for the municipal plan for childhood is increased by 12,000 euros, and by 8,000 euros more for volunteering. The Youth plan has another 28,000 euros, and the drug addiction plan, with an additional 5,000 euros.
Equality items also rise, by 11,000 euros; Education, at 9,000; Health, with another 4,000, and Citizen Participationa, with 5,000. The budget includes the 2% increase in the salaries of public workers; another 120,000 euros to reinforce the Local police, or the subrogation of 8 employees of Pamarsa.
