The Auto Sacramental of the Magi of Tejina has taken an important step on the way to achieving its declaration as Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC). Thus, after the presentation of the request by the area of Historical Heritage of the City Council of La Laguna, the Technical Unit of Historical Heritage of the Cabildo de Tenerife has already issued a report in which, based on the content of the documentation presented, it is “ it favorably reports the request as it considers that it is amply justified and proposes its initiation ”, and points out that the documentation is“ sufficient and it is estimated that it meets all the requirements established in the Canary Islands Cultural Heritage Law ”.

This was announced by the Lagunera Councilor for Historical Heritage, Elvira Jorge, who valued that “the meaning of this report has undoubtedly been one of the best gifts from Kings that we could have received, not only the entire community of the town of Tejina, and the Reyes Magos Cultural Association, which has been fighting for such a declaration for so many years on behalf of the Tejano people, but rather for all the Laguna and Laguneras, that we hope to be able to enjoy one of the best gifts of Kings for the next representation of 2023, already with the declaration as BIC ”.

After this favorable report, the presentation of ethnographic heritage, adviser of the Insular Commission of Historical Heritage in this matter, is summoned to issue an opinion on the matter. The Cabildo has to initiate the file for the declaration, which takes a procedure, and later it is sent to the Government of the Canary Islands, which is the Administration that will finally declare or not the BIC.

Elvira Jorge thanked “the Technical Unit of Historical Heritage of the Cabildo for their work also in favor of the contribution to the preservation of this property, in which the participation of the Texan people is practically carried out almost from the cradle and in which people are involved. of all ages”.

“We appreciate that you have already issued your report, as well as the insular director of Historical Heritage and how many people and entities have contributed in some way to making the declaration as BIC closer and closer,” continued the mayor. Also to those who signed their adhesion and, especially, to the entire community of the town of Tejina, which has been able to safeguard this good generation after generation, represented by the Reyes Magos cultural Association of Tejina, as well as the company that side by side with this association and with the staff of the Historical Heritage, he made it possible for us to complete and submit the memory ”.

Documentation of which the Technical Unit of Historical Heritage of the Cabildo has also indicated in its report that “includes a very detailed historical memory in which a very complete description of the activity is made, explaining its historical process, its development, as well as the participatory nature of the same, “said the mayor. Likewise, the report included the 3,912 signatures of support obtained and the adherence to the petition of 22 city councils, associations and entities.
