In a year marked by the effects of the pandemic, which prevented the celebration of the traditional parades, the municipalities of the region avoided agglomerations with the development of royal groups that toured the neighborhoods. A journey during which the little ones briefly enjoyed the Three Kings from their balconies, windows and rooftops. Their Majesties could not stop on the journeys, nor distribute candy and the collection of letters was uneven, However, as in the case of Arona, they set up key points in “royal mailboxes” where children and not so children deposited their letters.

Their Majesties spend more than five hours traveling through the towns of Arona and Adeje

Arona.

The welcome of the Mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, to Their Majesties in the hall of the Town Hall (3:00 p.m.), together with the Councilor for Fiestas, Pura Martín, consisted of the delivery of the magic key of the municipality, with which The Kings entered the houses at dawn to leave their gifts. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar got into their convertible cars and began a journey of more than five hours. From the Plaza del Cristo de la Salud, in the town of Arona, the children approached before starting the route through La Sabinita, La Camella, Cabo Blanco, Valle San Lorenzo, Buzanada, Cho-Parque La Reina, Guargacho, Costa del Silencio, La Estrella-Las Rosas, Las Galletas, El Fraile, El Palm Mar, Guaza, Playa de Las Américas and Los Cristianos, where they said goodbye to the cultural center. They were accompanied by two announcing vehicles with Christmas music and characters, members of the Arona Local Police, Civil Protection and an ambulance.

Granadilla de Abona.

With the format of a royal walk, the Three Kings tour began around 4:00 p.m. and ended after 8:00 p.m. Their Majesties could only be seen from the balconies and windows. Eudita Mendoza, Councilor for Culture, stressed that the royal walk took place “with total normality.” It “puts the closure on a different Christmas due, another year, to the pandemic, but it has given us the opportunity to experience it in a different way.” He thanked the effort and work done “by each of the people who made it possible for all the children of Granada to enjoy this day with a smile, and for the Three Wise Men to visit and tour all the neighborhoods of Granadilla de Abona with the maximum security measures”.

Candelaria.

In convertible cars, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar toured the municipality of Candelaria collecting the affection of young and old who looked out onto balconies, rooftops and streets to greet them as they passed. Previously, the mayor, María Concepción Brito, received Their Majesties the Three Wise Men from the East at the City Hall to give them the magic key to all the candlestick homes. The authorities thanked “the civility and responsibility of the citizens, who complied with the established health measures during the tour.”

Adeje.

Their Majesties the Three Wise Men made a ride in vehicles, without stops, touring the main nuclei of the Adejero municipality starting from the urban area, La Postura, Los Olivos, Las Nieves, Las Torres, Armeñime, Las Rosas, Playa Paraíso, Callao Salvaje, Ricasa , Tijoco Bajo, La Hoya, La Concepción, Tijoco Alto, Taucho, Los Menores, La Caleta, Costa Adeje, Miraverde, Fañabé, El Galeón and return to the urban area. The journey began at four in the afternoon, at which time the residents followed the route through social networks and the digital channels of the City Council. In the case of Adeje, these roads received complaints from users due to the slowness with which the procession progressed. In fact, this royal procession took around six hours to complete the journey. Civility was the keynote in the municipality and the region.
